Wedding Detail Week – Backdrops | Macomb Quincy Galesburg Peoria Illinois Wedding Photographer Erica Clark

I’m kicking off the week with a feature on backdrops. Let’s talk about the importance of backdrops for your ceremony and reception. In order to really understand how important the backdrop is, think about it like this: How many images from a wedding will include either the backdrop during the ceremony or of the head…

SandiJo + John | Dallas, Texas Steampunk Wedding | Erica Clark Macomb Peoria Quincy Galesburg Illinois Wedding Photographer

When John and Sandi asked me to photograph their wedding, I don’t really think I fully understood how magnificent it was going to be. I mean, we corresponded frequently via email and Facebook, and I obsessed over her Pinterest Boards, but for some reason, it didn’t really sink in until about 10 minutes before the…

We didn’t treat you like family, you ARE family as far as I am concerned! That’s just how we roll in Texas. :) Thank YOU for these amazing images. I really have gotten to relive the day looking through them. My only wish was that you hadn’t gotten so stressed out over it and that you got to actually enjoy the day too :) You did an above and beyond job. I am lucky to have such talented people in my life. Each and every one of y’all inspires me to try new things and look at life in new ways. Big hugs from Texas!

Hey Erica – it dawned on me that someone might want to know who the individual burlesque acts were. Broads and Panties ran the show that included:
Levi DesPeu Chapeaux – the lovely but deadly lady above with a ray gun
Dorian D’Muerta – the hula hooping beauty queen who never missed a beat
Pixie O’Kneel- Shimming beauty and her sword
Vivienne Vermuth – HBIC ‘Head Beauty in Charge’ – and lovely in red from head to foot above
Lula Hoop Garou – the amazing stripping TARDIS – a Doctor Who dream come true

2012 Wedding Review | Erica Clark Peoria Quincy Macomb Canton Rushville Jacksonville Galesburg Gulfport Illinois Wedding Photographer

2012 came in like a lamb and went out like a lion. My busiest year yet! For this year’s Year End Wrap Up Blog Post, I thought I’d separate it into categories: Prep, First Looks, Portraits and Creatives, Details, Ceremony, Candids, and Reception/Cocktail Hour. To my clients: I am more grateful for you than you…

Matt + Amy | Galesburg Macomb Peoria Quincy Illinois Wedding Photographer Erica Clark

Matt and Amy couldn’t been easier to work with. I know I say that about almost all of my clients, but it is absolutely 100% true. I think the commonality they all tend to share is trust. My clients trust me. They know that any advice I give is not only based on experience, but…

Amy Hendricks - January 20, 2013 - 10:00 am

I am so in love with all our photos! They are just what I wanted :) When planning our wedding I wanted to make sure we had beautiful photos from our special day. Choosing you was the easiest decision I made to secure us having them! You are right, we do trust you and that is what made it so easy for me. I never had to be worried about whether or not we would have the photos I wanted and I believe this was because of the TRUST. All anyone has to do is just look at your work and meet you and I think they will feel the same way. You are a truly wonderful person Erica! So happy we met and YES we do need that coffee date!
With Love,
Amy

I remember meeting with Russ and Erin at Petey’s in Monmouth like it was yesterday. I knew immediately that I wanted to work with them. They were sweet, laid back, and Erin’s adorable sense of humor won me over right away. I remember leaving the meeting so unsure if they would book with me. When…

Curtis & Chelsea – Enagagement Session | Peoria Galesburg Quincy Macomb Illinois Wedding Photographer

Oh how I love engagement sessions! It’s one of the reasons I include them with all of my wedding collections, but more important than my giddiness for photographing couples in love, is the opportunity for engaged couples to get to know their photographer, experience being in front of the camera together before the wedding day,…

Now that my daughter is almost 14 (good lord, where has the time gone?), I often find myself struggling to remember what kids do at certain ages. If I’m preparing for a session with a 3 month old, I ask myself, “What did Sidney do when she was 3 months old? Was she sitting up,…
